VW API Integration

EV drivers of selected models from six Volkswagen Group brands can now enjoy easier, smarter and cheaper home charging thanks to a new integration with Ohme and Volkswagen Group Info Services AG. In addition to Ohme’s existing partnership with the Volkswagen Group in Ireland and the UK, this new integration with Volkswagen Group Info Services AG, will mean all Ohme users get a dedicated official API to pair the car with their Ohme home charger and read the car’s state of charge in near real time. Included are EV vehicles for Volkswagen, Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles, Škoda, SEAT, CUPRA and Audi.

More than 100,000 Volkswagen Group customers across Europe already use Ohme to manage their home charging. This new integration means those drivers will now see their vehicle’s state of charge displayed directly in the Ohme app – removing the guesswork from the charging process and giving improved clarity over their energy use and costs.

“We’re excited that Ohme is applying Volkswagen Group Charging Data to enhance its charging services,” said Lasse Schmidt van Hülst, Lead Sales & Key Account Management from Volkswagen Group Info Services. “As home electricity tariffs across Europe become smarter and more dynamic, Ohme’s expertise and software means this new integration with Volkswagen Group Info Services AG comes at the perfect time for EV drivers.”

“We’re genuinely proud to be extending our partnership with Volkswagen Group Info Services AG in this way,” said Peter McDonald from Ohme. “Having direct access to the vehicle state of charge data means our customers get a truly hassle-free charging experience – the app does the hard work, automatically finding the cheapest times to charge. It’s a real statement of where Ohme is heading and underlines its commitment to giving EV drivers the best possible experience.”
