New Citroën C3 OUTDOOR and C3 Aircross OUTDOOR bring tougher styling, distinctive interior details and a choice of petrol, hybrid and electric powertrains, with both models set to make their public debut at the Paris Motor Show in October. Citroën is adding a little more adventure to its C3 and C3 Aircross ranges with the introduction of new OUTDOOR editions, designed to combine the French brand’s familiar comfort-led approach with a tougher and more distinctive appearance. The new cross-range designation brings additional equipment, unique styling touches and a new visual identity inspired by exploration and leisure. Both the C3 OUTDOOR and larger C3 Aircross OUTDOOR will make their public debut at the Paris Motor Show from October 12th.

Central to the new identity is Migoo, a slightly unusual comic-book-inspired mascot created specifically for the OUTDOOR range. Citroën describes the character as representing adventure, discovery and freedom, and Migoo appears in a number of places throughout both cars. While the mascot may divide opinion, the broader styling treatment gives the C3 and C3 Aircross a noticeably more rugged appearance without attempting to turn either model into a serious off-roader. Both receive redesigned front bumpers with a more angular appearance and a contrasting grey element intended to resemble the protective skid plates traditionally associated with SUVs. The C3 Aircross goes a little further, gaining LED fog lights along with distinctive Infra Rouge colour accents. The same red finish appears on the front and rear Citroën emblems and on detailing around the vehicles, while the C3 Aircross also receives a redesigned rear bumper with sharper, more pronounced surfaces.

Viewed from the side, both OUTDOOR models feature grey lower-door inserts embossed with the OUTDOOR logo and Migoo mascot, while new 17-inch alloy wheels give each model a stronger stance. The wheels have individual designs for the C3 and C3 Aircross and feature Citroën centre caps finished in Infra Rouge. A new Sequoia Green exterior colour also joins the range, alongside Perla Nera Black, Mercury Grey, Polar White and Bright Blue. The OUTDOOR treatment continues inside, where Citroën has concentrated on materials and detailing rather than making major changes to the cabin architecture. Advanced Comfort seats feature distinctive horizontal graphics and Infra Rouge stitching, while the front seat backrests carry a laser-embroidered Migoo motif. The red detailing continues across the armrest and door panels, dashboard trim and steering wheel logo, with matching Infra Rouge seatbelts providing perhaps the most obvious visual departure from the regular models. An embossed OUTDOOR insert also appears on the passenger side of the dashboard.

Underneath the new styling, Citroën continues to offer a broad selection of powertrains. The compact C3 OUTDOOR will be available with petrol, hybrid and fully electric options, with the electric version offering up to 323km of WLTP range. The larger and more family-focused C3 Aircross OUTDOOR will also be offered with petrol and hybrid powertrains, while its electric alternative stretches claimed range to as much as 400km. The C3 Aircross additionally gains functional roof rails, reinforcing its more practical, leisure-focused positioning and providing extra flexibility for carrying equipment. Citroën hasn’t announced Irish pricing or detailed specifications for the new OUTDOOR models yet, but with their combination of extra equipment, distinctive styling and familiar powertrain choices, they should provide an interesting alternative for buyers wanting something a little different from the standard C3 and C3 Aircross when they arrive.
