CUPRA has unveiled the CUPRA Raval, a striking new addition to the electric urban vehicle segment. Designed to combine emotional appeal with everyday usability, the Raval brings together compact dimensions, strong performance and advanced technology in a package tailored for modern city life. The CUPRA Raval challenges expectations in its class by offering the agility and responsiveness of a hatchback alongside a level of versatility more commonly associated with larger vehicles. At just four metres in length, it is ideally suited to urban environments, while still delivering the comfort and practicality needed for longer journeys.
Developed and produced in Barcelona, the Raval is built on the Volkswagen Group’s latest MEB+ platform. Despite its compact footprint, it offers a spacious and well-designed interior, along with a generous 441 litre boot, making it a practical choice for both daily commuting and extended travel. A range of powertrain options will be available, giving customers flexibility depending on their needs. The line-up includes four outputs paired with two battery sizes. Entry-level models feature an 85 kW 116 hp setup with a 37 kWh battery, followed by a 99 kW 135 hp version using the same battery capacity. Higher performance options include a 155 kW 211 hp model with a larger 52 kWh battery, while the range-topping VZ variant delivers 161 kW 226 hp, also paired with the 52 kWh battery.
Depending on the chosen specification, the CUPRA Raval is expected to offer a driving range of up to approximately 450 kilometres under WLTP testing conditions, making it a strong contender for both urban and longer distance use. The Raval also comes well equipped as standard. Key features include a 12.9 inch infotainment system and a 10.25 inch digital cockpit, along with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Additional standard equipment includes keyless start, rear parking sensors, high beam assist, flush door handles, a black roof cloth finish and 17 inch alloy wheels, with larger wheels fitted to higher output models.
VZ models add further enhancements, including wireless fast charging, an upgraded keyless system, a mobile digital key, a rear view camera and vehicle to load capability. These versions also benefit from 19 inch alloy wheels, wider tyres, adaptive chassis control, an electronic differential lock and heated front seats and steering wheel, further enhancing comfort and driving dynamics. The CUPRA Raval is scheduled to arrive in Ireland this September, with entry level pricing expected to begin at approximately 26,000 euro, positioning it as an accessible option within the growing electric vehicle market.
With the introduction of the Raval, CUPRA continues to expand its electric line-up while maintaining its focus on distinctive design and engaging performance. Combining bold styling, advanced technology and everyday practicality, the CUPRA Raval represents a compelling new choice for drivers seeking a more dynamic and characterful urban electric vehicle.
