Rev.ie has once again signed up to do this year’s Cannonball for the Make A Wish Foundation. In years past our editor Ian Beatty has driven the extreme KTM X-Bow, an Aston Martin DB9 and more recently our associate editor Justin Delaney has driven the Opel Insignia OPC, Audi’s luxurious A8, a Range Rover Sport and last year’s monstrous Mercedes-Benz SL65 AMG. This year Rev.ie won’t disappoint either as Justin has secured a drive in the incredibly rare Alfa Romeo 4C. This €70,000 supercar is powered by a 1.7 litre turbocharged 4-cylinder unit that produces 240hp allowing it to hit 100km/h in just 4.5 seconds. With a carbon-fibre monocoque the 4C is extremely light at just 895kg and it can reach a top speed of 257km/h. commenting on driving the 4C Justin said:
“I’m really looking forward doing some miles in the 4C. Like everything Alfa Romeo make, it’s pure Art In Motion and after driving it at a recent track event in MondelloPark I was extremely impressed. It’s fast, fun and it will add to the already amazing car line up to draw attention to the Make A Wish Foundation”
This year’s event kicks off at the PointVillage in Dublin on Friday September 12th. The 160 supercars will drive through 850 kilometers of Irish open roads through Dublin, Cavan, Donegal, Sligo, Mayo, Galway, Tipperary and Offaly from September 12th to 14th. Expect to see all your favourite supercars from marques such as Ferrari, Lamborghini, McLaren, Maserati, Porsche, Aston Martin, Rolls Royce and Bentley. This event is now in its 6th year and it is currently the largest organised road trip in Europe. Stay tuned to media partner 2FM all weekend for the updates as the car owners and various celebrities taking part reach each destination.
