Cork-based smart charging company, Ohme has been appointed as a new home EV charging partner for Ireland’s leading energy provider, Electric Ireland. The new partnership will see Electric Ireland offer Ohme EV home chargers for purchase for customers interested in switching to an electric vehicle. Ohme is Ireland’s largest home EV charging company and the fastest growing across Europe.
“We are delighted to be working with Ohme to support customers with their EV home charging needs,” said Aine Dorran from Electric Ireland. “By combining Electric Ireland’s Home Electric+ Night Boost tariff with Ohme’s dynamic charging technology, EV drivers can take advantage of lower electricity rates, maximise savings and get more from their home charging experience.”
Electric Ireland’s Home Electric+ Night Boost smart tariff means drivers can charge their cars at home with a reduced rate between 11pm and 8am and with a super cheap Night Boost rate between 2am and 4am. Ohme’s unique software and smart charging technology enables drivers to meet their charging goals and can automatically charge at the cheapest times based on your energy tariff.
“This new partnership with Electric Ireland is a fantastic opportunity to bring lower charging costs and greater savings to EV drivers in Ireland,” said Charlie Mainwaring from Ohme. “Ohme is at the cutting edge of charging technology and is committed to bringing easy, low-cost home charging to EV drivers.”
If an EV driver only topped-up the 54kWh battery of an Opel Mokka Electric solely during the Night Boost window of 2am – 4am, then its 403km range could cost less than €6. Ohme is also the official EV charging partner for the AA in Ireland as well as GoPlugable, Ireland’s co-sharing home charging company.
