New ICE2EV Nissan Scrappage Scheme

EV buyers can save up to €12,500 on a brand-new Nissan Ariya by taking advantage of the Government’s new ‘ICE2EV’ scrappage scheme, which opens for applications on 1 July. Drivers with petrol or diesel cars registered in 2013 or earlier automatically qualify for the new scheme, which will operate on a first-come, first-served basis for a limited period. Early applicants will receive a €5,000 scrappage payment and a €3,500 EV grant, giving a combined saving of €8,500. When paired with Nissan’s current ‘€4k Your Way’ offer, buyers can reduce the price of a new Nissan Ariya by a total of €12,500.

“This means smart buyers can drive away in a brand-new Nissan Ariya from just €34,995, representing exceptional value for a premium electric vehicle packed with advanced safety features and connected technology,” said Neil O’Sullivan, Head of Sales at Nissan Ireland.

“The first thing you notice when you step into the Nissan Ariya is its premium feel and spacious interior, and now customers can enjoy all of that for even less. The Ariya is available with two battery options, offering driving ranges of up to 404 kilometres and 532 kilometres,” he added.

The combined €8,500 available through the ICE2EV scheme can also be used across Nissan’s electric vehicle range, delivering substantial savings on models including the newly launched Nissan Micra, which is available from €20,995under the scrappage programme. Designed to make the switch to electric easier than ever, the all-new Nissan Micra is an ideal choice for drivers who are new to EV ownership. It is available with a range of up to 317 kilometres, while the larger battery version offers up to 416 kilometres. Nissan dealers are also taking pre-orders and arranging test drives for the sleek new Nissan LEAF, which has been reimagined as a crossover. Offering a driving range of up to 622 kilometres, the new LEAF is available from €29,995 as part of the new EV scrappage scheme.

“A visit to your local Nissan dealer is always a smart move when it comes to buying an EV,” said Neil O’Sullivan. “Nissan has been selling electric vehicles for more than 16 years, and customers can trust their local dealer to help them find the electric car that best suits their needs.”

“We understand that there can be a lot of terminology around EVs and that making the switch to electric can feel daunting. Nissan dealers are genuine EV experts and are here to guide customers through their options, answer their questions and help them navigate the electrified landscape with confidence.”
