Opel has released some images and details of its new Insignia Country Tourer, ahead of its world premiere at the Frankfurt Motor Show this September. The Insignia Country Tourer has a higher ground clearance then its Sports Tourer sibling. If features protective under-body guards and cladding around the wheel arches and lower body. Grip won’t be an issue as it’s equipped with all-wheel-drive. Powering it is a choice of a 2.0-litre SIDI direct injection petrol engine that produces a healthy 250hp and a 2.0-litre CDTi diesel engine that offers 163hp and 380Nm of torque.

Commenting on the new Insignia Country Tourer, Dave Sheeran, Managing Director of Opel Ireland said, “The new Insignia Country Tourer enables us to offer customers a sporty alternative in the larger, mid-size class. We’re confident the Insignia Country Tourer will be a great addition and will attract new customers to our brand because it combines athletic appeal and German engineering at an affordable price.” We will announce Irish prices and full specifications closer to the car’s launch.
