Nissan has unveiled the all-new PIXO, a compact electric city car designed specifically for European buyers and set to arrive on the road in early 2027. Small, practical and packed with useful technology, the PIXO will become one of the most accessible models in Nissan’s growing electric line-up, with pricing and individual market specifications due to be announced from December. Measuring just 3,796mm long and 1,790mm wide, the PIXO should be particularly well suited to busy urban environments. Despite its compact footprint, Nissan says there is enough room for four adults, while independently sliding rear seats allow owners to prioritise passenger or luggage space. Boot capacity is an impressive 356 litres with the rear seats in place, including 50 litres of dedicated charging cable storage.
Power comes from a 60kW electric motor, with the PIXO offering up to 259km of range. All versions get 50kW DC rapid charging as standard, allowing a 15 to 80 per cent charge in around 28 minutes, while 11kW AC charging is also supported. Interestingly, the PIXO introduces a Lithium Iron Phosphate battery to a European Nissan for the first time. There is plenty of technology squeezed inside too. A 7-inch driver display is paired with a 10-inch infotainment touchscreen, with Google built-in and Gemini voice assistance included. Face ID can recognise individual drivers and automatically load their preferred settings, while One-Pedal driving should make stop-start city journeys that little bit easier.
The PIXO also gets adaptive cruise control, Lane Departure Warning and Hands-Free Parking, while its tight 9.9-metre turning circle should prove useful around town. Styling is suitably playful, with pixel-inspired lighting, bold colours including Wonder Purple and Gear Blue and even a collection of hidden ‘23’ Easter eggs. Designed by Nissan and manufactured by Renault at its Novo Mesto facility in Slovenia, the new PIXO is scheduled to reach customers from early 2027.
