Mazda has made history with the Mazda6 becoming the first diesel car to win at Indianapolis Motor Speedway. The diesel-powered Mazda6 race car won the GX class at the Grand-am-Brickyard race event, it was the only entry in the race with a diesel engine. Mazda driver Sylvain Tremblay drove the car over the finish line of the three hour race. This win was the fifth in a row for Mazda and places them ahead of Porsche after eight of 12 races in the GX manufacturers’ championship. The winning Mazda6 is powered by a 2.2-litre SKYACTIV turbo diesel engine that has 51 per cent original parts, a true reflection on Mazda’s quality, durability and reliability.
