Honda Ireland Partners with David McCullagh

Honda Ireland has announced a new sponsorship agreement with RTÉ Radio 1’s Today with David McCullagh, one of the station’s most popular weekday current affairs programmes. Broadcast every weekday from 9am to 11am, immediately after Morning Ireland, the show covers the day’s biggest national and international stories, alongside discussions on politics, business, sport and entertainment. Regular lifestyle features focusing on money, travel, food and health also form part of the programme, culminating in the weekly The Gathering panel each Friday.

The sponsorship, brokered by WPP, includes six 10-second sponsor credits during each weekday broadcast, together with promotional activity across a number of RTÉ Radio 1 programmes, including Morning Ireland, Liveline, The Brendan O’Connor Show, Louise Duffy and Inside Sport. Honda branding will also feature on RTÉ Radio Player listen-back content and the station’s homepage.

John Saunders, Managing Director of Honda Ireland, said the partnership reflects the brand’s long-standing values.

“We’re delighted to partner with Today with David McCullagh and RTÉ Radio 1. This sponsorship gives Honda valuable national exposure to Irish motorists each weekday. Honda has built its global reputation on quality, reliability and dependability, values that are mirrored in RTÉ Radio 1’s commitment to trusted journalism and informed news coverage, making it a natural fit for our brand.”

Tara Farrell, Sponsorship Manager at RTÉ Radio, welcomed Honda to the station’s growing sponsorship portfolio.

“RTÉ Radio 1’s refreshed schedule and strong listenership continue to attract leading brands. We’re delighted to welcome Honda as sponsor of Today with David McCullagh, joining a portfolio of partners that recognise the value of connecting with our loyal and engaged audience.”

Honda Ireland forms part of Gowan Auto, the exclusive importer and distributor for Honda, Alfa Romeo, Citroën, DS Automobiles, Fiat, Fiat Professional, Jeep, Leapmotor, Opel and Peugeot in the Republic of Ireland. The company recently completed a significant investment in a new headquarters in Citywest, Dublin, designed to strengthen support for its nationwide dealer network and accommodate future growth across its expanding portfolio of automotive brands.
