The ASK Supercar Championship Sets Out To Support Young Drivers
ASK Racing are delighted to announce that for the 2017 racing season they will be part- nering with Ginetta Junior Ireland to launch the ASK Young Driver Initiative. We in ASK Racing understand the importance of supporting young drivers and helping them grow through the ranks in Irish Motorsport. Our young driver initiative will see the winner of the Ginetta Junior Championship in 2017, join the ASK Supercar Championship in their final championship round at the iconic Brands Hatch circuit. ASK Racing has been at the forefront of motorsport in Ireland for many years and has been a supporter of the Ginetta Junior Championship since it began in Ireland in 2010. We want to encourage young drivers to continue in Irish motorsport and it is with this in mind that we have launched our Young Driver Initiative.
As part of the initiative the top three drivers from the Ginetta Junior Championship will be offered a test drive in the ASK Supercars. Following from this, the Championship winner of the Ginetta Junior Championship in 2017 will join the ASK Supercar grid in their final round at the historic Brands Hatch Circuit at the B.R.S.C.C Formula ford festival in October 2017. ASK Racing acknowledges the support young drivers receive from Motorsport Ireland in the form of the Young Driver of the Year Award and hope to provide a platform for young drivers to showcase their talent and raise their profile with our own Young Driver Initiative. This initiative will give young drivers eligible for the Sexton Trophy the platform to prove their true potential in motorsport and help to launch their racing careers in Gt cars.
The top three drivers within the Ginetta Junior Championship-eligible for the test in ASK Supercars will be chosen based on the championship points table prior to September 17th 2017. Age restrictions and license limitations will apply, drivers must be 16 years of age (or over) on or before the 10th October 2017 to be eligible to win the prize.
