Kia Ireland has confirmed pricing and specifications for the all-new Seltos, with the second generation of the brand’s globally successful SUV set to arrive here this December, ahead of the 271-registration period. Positioned in the competitive C-SUV segment, the new Seltos will be offered exclusively with a hybrid powertrain in Ireland, with prices starting from €39,500. Four trim levels will be available – K2, K3, GT-Line and GT-Line Plus – while Kia dealerships nationwide have received display models this week, allowing customers to get a first look ahead of the official launch.
As Kia’s second best-selling model globally, the Seltos represents an important addition to the Irish SUV range. Designed to combine urban-friendly dimensions with family practicality, it measures 4,430mm long, 1,830mm wide and 1,600mm high, with a 2,690mm wheelbase. Boot capacity stands at a generous 536 litres, while Kia has placed a strong emphasis on comfort, safety, driver assistance technology and everyday usability. Interestingly, Vehicle-to-Load technology also makes its debut on a Kia hybrid with the Seltos, allowing compatible external electrical devices to be powered directly from the vehicle.
Designed under Kia’s ‘Opposites United’ philosophy, the new Seltos combines traditional SUV proportions with styling cues influenced by the company’s latest electric models. Power comes from a 1.6-litre GDI hybrid system producing 154PS and 261Nm of torque, driving the front wheels. Kia quotes a 0-100km/h time of 10.4 seconds, while the Seltos is capable of towing up to 910kg. The range opens with the €39,500 K2, which comes equipped with 16-inch alloy wheels, dual panoramic displays, Smart Cruise Control, heated front seats and steering wheel, a reversing camera and Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Moving to the €42,500 K3 adds 18-inch alloys, vegan leather upholstery, ambient interior lighting, privacy glass and wireless phone charging.
Priced from €45,000, the GT-Line introduces bespoke interior and exterior styling along with a 360-degree surround-view monitor, blind-spot monitors, a powered smart tailgate and Remote Park Assist. Sitting at the top of the range is the €48,000 GT-Line Plus, which adds a sunroof, driver’s Premium Relaxation Seat, Harman Kardon audio system, ventilated front seats, head-up display and the new Vehicle-to-Load functionality. Due to staggered production of the various Seltos powertrains, the cars currently arriving in Irish Kia dealerships are 1.6-litre manual petrol models intended for display purposes. Customers can therefore view the new Seltos nationwide now, with the Irish-market hybrid models scheduled to arrive in December.
