Audi has pulled the wraps off the all-new Q9, the largest and most luxurious SUV ever to wear the four rings. Set to arrive in Ireland towards the end of 2026, the new flagship has been designed to rival the very best in the premium SUV segment, combining three-row practicality with cutting-edge technology, refined comfort and effortless long-distance capability. Measuring more than 5.3 metres in length, the Q9 is the biggest SUV Audi has ever produced. Despite its imposing dimensions, Audi says the newcomer retains the precise handling and driving dynamics that have become synonymous with the brand. A bold Singleframe grille, sculpted bodywork and clean, contemporary styling ensure the Q9 makes a commanding impression on the road.
Inside, luxury is the overriding theme. Buyers will be able to choose between a standard seven-seat layout or a more exclusive six-seat configuration featuring electrically adjustable second-row captain’s chairs. Premium materials, Audi’s largest panoramic glass roof to date and generous space across all three rows are designed to create a first-class travelling experience, while three ISOFIX mounting points in the second row underline the Q9’s family-friendly credentials. Under the bonnet, the Irish launch model will be the Q9 TDI quattro S line, powered by a 3.0-litre V6 diesel producing 220kW. The engine is paired with Audi’s latest MHEV Plus mild hybrid system, which can provide up to 18kW of additional electric assistance to improve both performance and efficiency. Drive is sent to all four wheels through an eight-speed Tiptronic automatic gearbox, with Audi’s renowned quattro system fitted as standard. Plug-in hybrid variants are expected to join the range at a later date.
Technology is another major focus. The Q9 introduces Audi’s third-generation curved digital OLED rear lights, described by the brand as a world first for a production vehicle, while optional Digital Matrix LED headlights promise enhanced visibility and sophisticated lighting functions. The cabin is centred around Audi’s latest digital architecture, featuring a curved MMI panoramic display that combines the digital instrument cluster with a large OLED touchscreen. An optional passenger display is also available, while the latest Audi assistant now integrates ChatGPT functionality for more natural voice interaction. Buyers can also access a growing range of applications through the Audi Application Store.
Comfort levels are equally impressive, with adaptive air suspension and all-wheel steering fitted as standard to improve both ride quality and manoeuvrability. Buyers can also specify heated, ventilated and massage seats, ambient lighting and a Bang & Olufsen 4D Premium Sound System. A comprehensive suite of driver assistance technologies includes Adaptive Driving Assistant Plus, 360-degree cameras, Park Assist, Trailer Assist, Exit Warning and Emergency Assist, helping make the Q9 as relaxing to drive as it is to travel in. The all-new Audi Q9 is expected to arrive in Irish dealerships towards the end of 2026, with prices for the Q9 TDI quattro S line starting from €172,250.
