Polestar is entering its most ambitious phase yet, announcing the largest model offensive in its history alongside strong signs of commercial momentum. Over the next three years, the Swedish electric performance brand will introduce four new models, targeting key growth segments of the EV market while continuing to expand its retail footprint across Europe and beyond. Following its strongest sales year to date in 2025, Polestar says it expects low double-digit retail volume growth in 2026, underpinned by a disciplined operational approach and a planned 30 per cent expansion of its retail network. The company believes this combination of new products, broader market reach and a growing customer base is laying the groundwork for sustainable, profitable growth.

Central to this next chapter is the Polestar 5, the brand’s new flagship and halo model. A four-door performance grand tourer, it represents the clearest expression yet of Polestar’s design, engineering and sustainability ambitions. Developed from the Precept concept first shown in 2020, Polestar 5 brings that future-focused vision into full production reality, featuring a lightweight bonded aluminium platform and a strong focus on performance and refinement. The Polestar 5 has already been earning positive reviews during its European launch tour and we attended the recent preview event at Polestar Dublin in Sandyford. Available to order now, prices start at €130,700 for the Dual Motor Launch Edition, rising to €145,700 for the Performance Launch Edition. The model is due to officially arrive on Irish roads in summer 2026.

While the Polestar 5 defines the top end of the range, the brand’s growth is being driven by strong demand elsewhere in the line-up. Polestar 4 has emerged as the company’s current best-seller, and a new variant based on the same platform and technology is planned before the end of the year. Designed to blend the space and practicality of an estate with the versatility of an SUV and the performance expected of a Polestar, it plays a key role in the brand’s near-term success. The Polestar 2 continues to underpin the brand globally, with more than 190,000 examples sold to date. A next-generation version of the model is scheduled to arrive by early next year, ensuring the car that established Polestar’s reputation remains central to its future strategy.

Looking further ahead, Polestar has also confirmed plans for Polestar 7, a compact electric SUV aimed at the largest EV segment in Europe. With compact SUVs expected to account for around one-third of all battery-electric vehicle sales, Polestar sees this model as a major opportunity to reach new customers with a performance-focused EV built in Europe and positioned at an accessible price point. Polestar’s current Irish line-up is priced to offer a clear step-up across the range, starting with the Polestar 2 from €39,900, or €368 per month on 3.9% PCP finance. The brand’s best-selling Polestar 4 is available from €56,490, or €462 per month on 3.9% PCP, with a €1,500 trade-in bonus also available, while the flagship electric SUV, Polestar 3, starts at €73,590, or €699 per month on 5.9% PCP finance. As mentioned above, at the top of the range sits the forthcoming Polestar 5, priced from €130,700..

Despite ongoing economic and geopolitical challenges, Polestar says its performance in 2025 demonstrates the strength of its strategy. With this broadened model range, strong backing from shareholders and partners, and continued investment in retail expansion, the company believes it is well placed to emerge as one of the winners of the automotive industry’s shift to electric mobility. The direction of travel is clear: growth, scale and a more confident presence in the global EV market space. Select models from the Polestar line-up will be available for test drives at the upcoming Nevo Driving Experience events at locations around the country, with full dates and details available at nevo.ie
