Toyota Ireland has launched their new third generation Yaris onto the Irish Market. This new larger model has been extensively designed to result in a larger, more stylish and more economical car than the outgoing model. The wheelbase has been increased by 50mm, while the height has been reduced by 20mm to result in a lower stance. Visually, the Yaris boasts a new larger lower front grille which gives the car a more purposeful face.
There’s a choice of two petrol and two diesel models on offer. The petrol contingents are a 1.0l VVT-i 69hp engine and a 1.3l Dual VVT-i with 99hp, both sit in tax band A with €104 annual road tax. The diesel line-up consists of a 1.3l Dual VVT-I mated to a seven-speed CVT transmission which produces 99hp and a 1.4l D-4D which uses a six-speed manual transmission to deliver 90hp. With three grades (Terra, Luna, Sol) on offer, there’s plenty of choice available. The standard level of specification is significant with seven airbags, abs, ebd and usb connector all included. This new much-improved Yaris is on sale now, available in both three and five door variants. Prices commence at €14,760 for the three door 1.0l VVT-i Terra model.
