Škoda Unveils Flagship 7-Seat Electric SUV

Škoda has unveiled the all-new Peaq, a seven-seat electric SUV that will become the flagship of the brand’s growing EV line-up when it arrives in Ireland in January 2027. Positioned above the Enyaq and Elroq, the Peaq is Škoda’s first battery electric model in the large SUV segment and is designed to offer the space and practicality that have become synonymous with the Czech manufacturer. At 4.87 metres long with a wheelbase of almost three metres, it is also the largest SUV the brand has ever produced. The new model offers seating for up to seven occupants and delivers a driving range of more than 640 kilometres on selected versions, making it one of the longest-range electric SUVs in its class.

The Peaq introduces several firsts for Škoda, including flush door handles, a panoramic roof with Dynamic Shade Control and bidirectional charging, allowing the vehicle’s battery to supply power to external devices or even a home energy system. One-pedal driving also makes its debut on the brand’s new flagship. Power comes from a choice of two battery sizes, 63kWh and 91kWh, with three powertrain options producing between 150kW and 220kW. Buyers will be able to choose between rear-wheel drive and all-wheel drive versions depending on specification.

Inside, the Peaq adopts a lounge-inspired cabin with generous passenger accommodation and a boot capacity of up to 890 litres in seven-seat configuration. An additional 37-litre front storage compartment provides extra practicality, while higher specification models can be equipped with ventilated and massage front seats, a Sonos premium audio system and an integrated wellbeing app. Technology is another major focus. A new vertically mounted 13.6-inch infotainment display makes its debut, complemented by wireless charging for two smartphones and an extensive suite of connected services.

Safety has also been enhanced with ten airbags fitted as standard, alongside a comprehensive package of driver assistance systems. Optional features include Travel Assist 3.0, Intelligent Park Assist and a 360-degree camera system. For buyers seeking a sportier appearance, the Sportline model will be available from launch. It features black exterior styling, LED Matrix headlights, sports seats and the option of a contrasting black roof.

Commenting on the unveiling, Klaus Zellmer, CEO of Škoda Auto, said the Peaq represents a significant milestone for the brand as it continues to expand its electric vehicle range.

“The Peaq represents a new reference point for Škoda as our brand flagship. It combines the space, practicality and value our customers expect while broadening our electric vehicle offering and giving customers greater choice across different powertrains.”

John Donegan, Brand Director of Škoda Ireland, believes the Peaq will build on the success of the Kodiaq in the Irish market.

“The popularity of the Kodiaq has demonstrated the strong demand for spacious seven-seat SUVs in Ireland. The Peaq is even larger and combines exceptional practicality with impressive electric range and the latest technology. We believe it will take the Škoda brand to another level in the Irish market.”

Irish pricing and final specifications will be announced in August, with order books expected to open shortly afterwards. The first customer deliveries are scheduled for January 2027.
