Its good news for Audi Ireland as the brand report a 22% increase in car registrations in 2015, and is forecasting an even stronger 2016, based on early pre-sales, the car brand announced recently. 5,210 new Audis were registered between 1 January and 30 November, a 22% increase on the previous year-to-date. In addition, the premium car brand simultaneously reported a 32% share of the Irish premium market and a 4.2% share of the overall Irish car market in 2015. Audi’s 2015 sales volume performance has recovered to 2007 pre-recession levels; despite operating in a smaller car market today 66% the size of 2007.

As the Irish car market continues to recover, Audi Ireland Managing Director Christian Gussen expects over 130,000 units to be sold in 2016, stating Audi’s own dealer order bank is up significantly for the coming year. The Audi A6 has played a key role in this continued growth.  The brand’s executive saloon 2016 order bank shows the A6 will continue to be one of the main growth pillars for Audi. Audi is poised to take full advantage of the growing SUV market, with the recently launched all-new Q7 set to attract new conquest customers to the German brand next year. Orders for the all-new Audi A4, which launched in Ireland in mid-November, are significantly up year-on-year for 2016, exceeding Audi’s initial expectations.  The all-new Audi A4 sets a new standard in both engineering and the technological equipment available in a car in this segment.

Christian Gussen, Managing Director of Audi Ireland, said:
“Looking into 2016, early indications suggest that we are placed for another successful year. Our predictions are testament to our sophisticated premium model portfolio paired with our dedicated dealer network.  Combined with a recovering economy and increased consumer confidence, these factors are powering Audi’s continued growth in Ireland. We are particularly pleased with the unprecedented increase in orders for the A6. The product improvements made to the car last year, including the introduction of the s-tronic automatic transmission, are starting to reap rewards with a significant increase in the 2016 order bank. The all-new Audi A4 is equally impressive, combining accomplished design with excellence in engineering. The car is now lighter and more fuel efficient than its predecessor model, and features state-of-the art technological innovations,”
