Škoda Strengthens EV Momentum as EV Sales Surge 48%

Škoda Auto has reported a strong first half of 2026, with global deliveries rising 9.1 per cent to 555,700 vehicles, driven by growing demand for its expanding range of electric models. The Czech manufacturer also retained its position as Europe’s second best-selling car brand, while climbing to become the fourth best-selling battery electric vehicle (BEV) brand across the continent. Electric vehicle sales were the standout performer, with deliveries of the all-electric Elroq and Enyaq increasing by 48.3 per cent year on year to 108,200 vehicles. Plug-in hybrid sales also grew by 11.8 per cent to 24,100 units, meaning more than one in four Škoda customers in Europe now choose an electrified model.

Škoda says the recent launch of the all-electric Epiq and flagship Peaq has further strengthened its EV line-up, with the two models already attracting more than 30,000 customer orders. The Elroq has quickly established itself as one of Europe’s most popular electric vehicles, ranking as the continent’s third best-selling BEV and becoming the market leader in Germany and Denmark. Meanwhile, the Enyaq continues to perform strongly, ranking fourth among Europe’s best-selling electric models. Financially, the company also enjoyed a positive first six months of the year. Revenue increased by 6.3 per cent to €16.0 billion, while operating profit rose to €1.4 billion. Net cash flow also improved by 14.3 per cent to €1.7 billion, underpinned by higher sales volumes, careful cost management and efficiencies gained through the wider Volkswagen Group.

Commenting on the results, Škoda Auto CEO Klaus Zellmer said the figures demonstrate the brand’s ability to deliver products that customers want while maintaining strong profitability in a challenging market. Škoda continues to broaden its electric vehicle offering, with production of the new Epiq now underway in Spain, while preparations continue for the flagship Peaq, which will be built at the company’s Mladá Boleslav plant. With demand for electric vehicles continuing to grow across Europe, Škoda’s latest results underline the brand’s growing influence in the EV market and reinforce its ambition to remain one of Europe’s leading manufacturers as the transition to electrification accelerates.
