Volvo is preparing to make a major statement in the electric SUV market with the arrival of the new EX60, a fully electric mid-size SUV designed to sit at the heart of one of the world’s most competitive segments. Family focused, technologically advanced and engineered to remove the last remaining doubts around electric ownership, the EX60 is positioned as a turning point for the brand and for the wider EV market. At the core of the EX60’s appeal is its remarkable range and charging capability. In all-wheel-drive form, the flagship version offers up to 810 kilometres on a single charge, a figure that places it firmly at the top of its class and well ahead of previous Volvo electric models. For everyday driving, that kind of range transforms how an electric car fits into family life, making long journeys feel routine rather than planned around charging stops. When recharging is needed, the EX60 is equally impressive. Using a high-speed 400 kW DC charger, it can add up to 340 kilometres of range in just ten minutes, turning a short coffee stop into a meaningful top-up.

Volvo is offering the EX60 with a choice of powertrains to suit different needs. The rear-wheel-drive P6 version delivers up to 620 kilometres of range, while the P10 all-wheel-drive model extends that to around 660 kilometres. Sitting at the top of the range, the P12 all-wheel-drive variant combines maximum performance with the headline 810 kilometre range. Across the lineup, buyers can choose from seven variants, all backed by a ten-year battery warranty for added peace of mind. Under the skin, the EX60 is built on Volvo’s new SPA3 electric architecture and powered by the brand’s next-generation core system. Lightweight construction, cell-to-body battery technology, in-house developed electric motors and advanced manufacturing techniques all contribute to improved efficiency and reduced weight. As a result, the EX60 achieves the lowest carbon footprint of any fully electric Volvo to date, matching even the smaller EX30.

Design follows Volvo’s familiar Scandinavian philosophy, combining clean lines with purposeful details. A low nose, sloping roofline and tapered sides improve aerodynamic efficiency, helping the EX60 achieve a drag coefficient of just 0.26. Inside, the focus is on calm, space and practicality. A long wheelbase and flat floor create generous rear legroom, while the boot and smart storage solutions make it well suited to family use. Technology plays a central role in the EX60 experience. A premium 28-speaker Bowers and Wilkins sound system brings concert-level audio to the cabin, including headrest speakers for all main seats. Apple Music comes pre-installed with Dolby Atmos, offering an immersive listening experience. The EX60 is also Volvo’s most intelligent car yet, featuring a highly responsive infotainment system and natural voice control powered by Google’s latest AI assistant. Drivers can interact with the car conversationally, adjusting settings, navigation and media without memorising commands.

As expected from Volvo, safety remains a defining feature. The EX60 uses a comprehensive sensor suite to constantly monitor its surroundings, supported by a reinforced safety structure and the brand’s latest multi-adaptive safety belt technology. Over-the-air software updates ensure the car continues to evolve long after delivery. For Irish buyers, the Volvo EX60 will start from €66,695, with first deliveries expected from summer 2026. The P10 all-wheel-drive version arrives from July 2026 priced from €69,995, while the flagship P12 follows towards the end of the year from €76,595. With its blend of range, technology and everyday usability, the EX60 looks set to become one of the most significant electric launches of the coming year.
