Toyota Ireland is celebrating as it has once again cemented its position as Ireland’s number one car brand for passenger vehicles for the fifth year running, according to the latest July 252 sales figures released by the Society of the Irish Motor Industry (SIMI), with a market share of 14.44%.

Toyota maintains its status as Ireland’s number one car brand following the July 2025 sales period, during which Toyota Ireland sold 3,868 passenger cars, 97.18% of which were electrified, and over 200 more than the next best-seller. Five Toyota models featured in the Top fifteen for car sales for July 2025: the Yaris Cross, Corolla, RAV4, Toyota C-HR and Yaris Hybrid.

Toyota’s continued success can be attributed to meeting customers’ sustainable demands with ongoing innovation and the electrification of popular models. July 252 sales saw a robust growth in electrified vehicle options across the entire Irish market. Electric sales across the country saw a sharp increase of 57.02%, securing an 18.34% share in the market, with Toyota EV sales climbing significantly by 30.56% from 2024.

Plug-In Hybrid Electric Vehicles (PHEV) also saw an extraordinary increase of 54.94% in the same period versus last year (15.47% in 2025 VS 10.41% in 2024). Toyota saw a 71.19% increase in its PHEV sales – a dramatic rise highlighting the changing attitudes of Irish drivers towards electrified vehicles.

The all-new Toyota Land Cruiser, which only arrived on Irish roads in June, has seen unprecedented demand and topped the Light Commercial Vehicle sales for July. With an increased towing capacity up to 3.5 tonnes, a redesigned turbocharger, and an advanced eight-speed automatic transmission, the Land Cruiser has proved popular once again for those who tackle challenging terrains every day.

Zoë Bradley, Head of Marketing Communications and Corporate Affairs, at Toyota Ireland, said, “The July SIMI results highlight a powerful shift across Irish roads, with electrified sales gaining even more momentum. We’re thrilled to see five Toyota models ranked among Ireland’s top fifteen best-sellers this month, proof that our multi-path approach is resonating deeply with drivers who refuse to compromise on style, reliability, or environmental impact.

“With over 50%** of Irish motorists now considering an electrified car for their next purchase, Toyota’s continued leadership in customer satisfaction and brand trust reinforces our belief that Ireland is ready for a cleaner, better driving experience. We are deeply grateful to our customers for their continued trust in us, culminating in Toyota being the top-selling brand for the fifth July in a row.

“Looking at the commercial market, the new Land Cruiser has once again proven its enduring appeal, securing the top spot as Ireland’s best-selling commercial vehicle for July. This milestone underscores the model’s legendary status and the special place it holds in the hearts of Irish drivers.”
