World champion Lara Gillespie has taken delivery of a new Mercedes A180 AMG Line from Johnson & Perrott Fleet, continuing a multi-year partnership between Ireland’s most decorated female racing cyclist and the leading vehicle leasing company. The 25-year-old from Enniskerry, County Wicklow, was briefly back in Ireland last week as she prepared to rejoin Team Ireland for the UCI World Track Cup in Malaysia. Her visit followed a highly successful spring road racing campaign, highlighted by a standout victory in the Ename Samyn one-day cobbled classic in Belgium.
Supporting her demanding schedule throughout 2026, Gillespie will have the use of the Johnson & Perrott Fleet-supplied Mercedes A180 AMG Line, extending what is now a fourth consecutive year of collaboration between the two. Arriving in her world championship rainbow stripes jersey, Gillespie collected her new car before heading off with her team-issued Colnago V5R securely mounted on a bespoke roof rack.
Speaking at the handover, Jonathan O’Brien, Managing Director of Johnson & Perrott Fleet, said it was a privilege to continue supporting an athlete of Gillespie’s calibre.
“Lara Gillespie is Ireland’s most decorated female racing cyclist and competes at the very highest level across multiple disciplines. It is a pleasure for us to play a small role in helping manage the logistical demands of her career, while aligning with values we share, including commitment, endurance and consistently delivering results in high-pressure environments.”
Gillespie also welcomed the continuation of the partnership, reflecting on a successful period in her career.
“I’m delighted to continue my association with Johnson & Perrott Fleet, who have supported me since the early stages of my international career. It has been an incredible 12 months, with victories at World and European Championships on the track, along with recent success on the road in Belgium. I’m looking forward to the challenges ahead, both on the track and the road, and it’s great to have this fantastic Mercedes to support me along the way.”
