Fans of the 1980’s classic television show Knight Rider have the opportunity to get up close to David Hasselhoff’s KITT car. KITT is on display at the Newbridge Silverware Visitor Centre in Co. Kildare from today until Sunday 27th April 2014. The visitor centre is open from 9:30am to 5pm Monday to Saturday, and from 11am to 5pm on Sundays. Fans will be able to get the full Knight Rider experience at Newbridge Silverware for a limited time only, complete with the classic theme tune and talking car. After the exhibition at Newbridge Silverware, KITT along with a host of other items owned by world-renowned actor, singer, and producer David Hasselhoff will be auctioned by Julien’s Auctions in Hollywood.

Speaking about the arrival of KITT to the Newbridge Silverware Visitor Centre, Martin Nolan, Executive Director of Julien’s Auctions, said, “KITT is a truly iconic piece of TV history. Knight Rider was a hugely popular TV show not only here in Ireland but also worldwide.  Irish fans of the show and the Hoff should ensure they capture a picture with this car before it goes up for auction as it may never be available to the public again.”  Martin, who is currently starring with Darren Julien in the new hit show, Celebrity Home Raiders on Lifetime channel in the US added, “we are really looking forward to our upcoming auction of David’s items including some well-known and loved pieces, such as a Baywatch jacket. David also appeared on our new show, Celebrity Home Raiders, which aired recently in the US.”

Marie Brennan from Newbridge Silverware commented, “We are delighted to welcome KITT to our Visitor Centre in Newbridge. It is sure to attract a wide variety of visitors as Knight Rider was one of the great TV hits of the 1980’s and has great memories for many people, including myself. I’m sure there are lots of fans around who would like to sit in the Hoff’s seat and get a photograph before the car is sold.”
