Continental Tyres Ireland is proud to mark a decade of partnership with Blood Bikes Leinster, the volunteer‑run charity that provides a not for profit, rapid‑response medical transport service across the region.  For the last 10 years, Continental has been the official support vehicle tyre partner, supplying premium tyres that help keep the Blood Bike Leinster’s fleet of cars and vans on the road in all conditions.

Blood Bike Leinster’s team of dedicated volunteer riders and drivers clock up between 60,000 and 70,000 kilometres annually, delivering blood, human donor breast milk, cancer medications, and other time‑critical medical supplies to hospitals and medical centres. Their work ensures ambulances and Garda vehicles remain available for frontline emergencies.

“Volunteers are the heartbeat of Blood Bikes,” said Tom Dennigan, Head of Continental Tyres Ireland. “They give their time freely, often in challenging weather, to deliver a truly life‑saving service. We’re honoured to mark 10 years of support for them with tyres they can depend on, like our AllSeasonContact range, which offers outstanding performance in Ireland’s varied climate.”

“As the demand for Blood Bikes’ services continues to grow, Continental Tyres remains committed to supporting the volunteers who keep this life‑saving operation moving – here’s to the next 10 years of partnership!”, concluded Dennigan.

Fergus Lennon, Regional Coordinator of Blood Bike Leinster, said: “We are delighted to be celebrating 10 years of partnership with Tom and the Continental Tyres Ireland team.  Without the support of companies like Continental, we would not be able to operate, it’s as simple as that.  And thanks to the tyre support partnership, we are able to meet our safety commitments to our volunteers.  It is a key priority in everything we do and when you consider the mileage that our volunteers put up each year, it is comforting to know that they are on safe, premium tyres that will help to get them to their destination safely and on time”.

The latest set of Continental AllSeasonContact tyres fitted to the charity’s Škoda support vehicle is expected to deliver another 60,000+ kilometres of safe, reliable service. These tyres are engineered for optimal grip and handling in summer heat, heavy rain, and mild winter conditions – vital for time‑sensitive deliveries.

Over the past decade, the partnership has seen the Blood Bike Leinster fleet equipped with Continental’s award‑winning tyres, including 4-wheel drive models that proved invaluable during severe weather events such as the ‘Beast from the East’ in 2018. The collaboration has also supported the charity’s critical role during the COVID‑19 pandemic, transporting test samples and vaccines across Leinster.
