Motor Distributors Limited has expanded its BYD line-up in Ireland with the arrival of two new models, the ATTO 2 Super Hybrid and the all-electric ATTO 3 EVO. Both will be available through BYD’s nationwide network of 17 dealers. The ATTO 2 Super Hybrid becomes the fourth BYD hybrid to launch in Ireland and brings the company’s Super DM (Dual Mode) technology to the compact SUV segment. Alongside it, the new ATTO 3 EVO represents a significant update for one of BYD’s most familiar models, following the original ATTO 3’s Irish arrival three years ago.

BYD ATTO 2 Super Hybrid
Two versions of the ATTO 2 Super Hybrid will be offered, with the Active priced from €32,990 and the Boost from €35,990. Measuring 4,330mm long, 1,830mm wide and 1,675mm tall, with a 2,620mm wheelbase, it combines compact SUV dimensions with the long-distance flexibility of BYD’s plug-in hybrid system. Depending on specification, battery capacity extends to 18kWh, with power of up to 156kW and a 0-100km/h time of 7.5 seconds. Electric-only range reaches up to 90km, while BYD quotes a combined WLTP range of up to 1,000km. Weighted fuel consumption is rated at 1.8 litres/100km.

BYD ATTO 3 EVO
The new ATTO 3 EVO will be offered in two versions. The rear-wheel-drive Design starts at €40,530, while the more powerful Excellence model adds permanent all-wheel drive and is priced from €43,985. Although its dimensions remain similar to the outgoing ATTO 3, the EVO receives substantial changes underneath. Built on the latest version of BYD’s e-Platform 3.0, the new model moves away from the previous front-wheel-drive configuration, with buyers now offered rear- or all-wheel drive. A new five-link rear suspension also replaces the previous four-link arrangement.
Battery capacity, performance and charging have all been improved. Maximum driving range increases to 510km, while DC charging at up to 220kW allows a 10 to 80 per cent charge in a claimed 25 minutes. The ATTO 3 EVO also gains a larger 490-litre boot, expandable to 1,360 litres, together with a new 101-litre front storage compartment. Equipment across the range includes electrically adjustable heated front seats, ambient lighting, a panoramic sunroof with electric blind and a 15.6-inch infotainment display. Google Maps, Google Play Store and a comprehensive suite of driver-assistance systems are also included, along with front and rear parking sensors and a 360-degree camera.
Vehicle-to-Load technology allows external electrical equipment to be powered at up to 3kW, while braked towing capacity is rated at 1,500kg. BYD also provides a six-year vehicle warranty and an eight-year or 250,000km battery warranty. BYD National Sales Manager Vicky Reilly said the ATTO 3 EVO builds on the success of the original model by adding “more power, a bigger battery, longer range, faster charging and best-in-class performance.” She added that the ATTO 2 Super Hybrid gives buyers an opportunity to move closer to fully electric motoring while retaining the long-distance flexibility of a hybrid powertrain. BYD has now grown to an eight-model range in Ireland, spanning both fully electric and plug-in hybrid models.
