BYD Group To Unveil 8 New Models at Goodwood

The BYD Group is set to make a major impact at the 2026 Goodwood Festival of Speed, bringing no fewer than eight new model debuts across its BYD, DENZA and YANGWANG brands. Premium marque DENZA will officially launch in the UK at the event, which will also host two global premieres and a European debut. Meanwhile, BYD will unveil the new DOLPHIN G DM-i for British buyers, introducing plug in hybrid technology to the supermini segment for the first time. Luxury brand YANGWANG will also be represented by a number of headline grabbing models, including the U9 Xtreme, which is claimed to be the world’s fastest production car.

Among the highlights for DENZA are the world premieres of the all electric Z Coupe and Z Racing. Both models are based on the design philosophy first showcased by the Z Spider concept and feature a three motor powertrain capable of delivering a top speed of 217mph. The Z Coupe combines this performance with everyday practicality thanks to its two plus two seating layout, while the more extreme Z Racing gains an aggressive carbon fibre aerodynamic package. DENZA will also present the BAO 5 SUV for the first time in Europe. Combining three electric motors with a turbocharged 2.0 litre petrol engine, the rugged SUV is designed to offer both off road capability and electric refinement. The Z9GT and D9 DM-i will spearhead the brand’s arrival in the UK market.

The D9 DM-i brings a luxurious approach to family transport, with reclining middle row seats, heating and ventilation for all seven seats and generous luggage capacity. Its plug in hybrid powertrain offers up to 130 miles of electric only driving range and strong performance from a dual motor setup. BYD itself will showcase two key models for Europe. The DOLPHIN G DM-i, first revealed in Berlin, promises a total range of 646 miles and combines strong performance with class leading practicality. Also making its European debut is the SHARK pick up, which features a 435PS plug in hybrid powertrain, a 55 mile electric range and a towing capacity of 2,500kg.

YANGWANG will use the event to confirm European availability of the U9 Xtreme, which has already set records at the Nürburgring and achieved a top speed of 308.4mph. The U7 luxury saloon will also be on display, available with both electric and plug in hybrid powertrains. Away from the cars, BYD will host the largest stand in Goodwood Festival of Speed history, complete with technology displays, off road demonstrations, robots, simulators, a merchandise store and a rooftop hospitality area.
