Porsche and Manthey have taken the all-electric Taycan Turbo GT with Weissach Package to a new level of circuit performance with the introduction of the first-ever Manthey performance kit developed for an electric sports car. Known for creating track-focused upgrades for Porsche GT models, Manthey has now turned its attention to electrification, delivering a package designed to maximise the Taycan Turbo GT’s performance on some of the world’s most demanding circuits. The new kit, which will be available to order from June as a retrofit option for all Taycan Turbo GT models fitted with the Weissach Package, has already proven its capabilities with a record-breaking Nürburgring lap.
Porsche development driver Lars Kern set a new lap record for electric executive cars on the Nürburgring-Nordschleife, completing the 20.832-kilometre circuit in an astonishing 6:55.533 minutes. The time eclipsed the previous record by more than nine seconds and also bettered Kern’s own benchmark set in October 2023 by a full 12 seconds.
“With the new Manthey Kit, we are offering a unique upgrade for the Taycan Turbo GT,” said Kevin Giek, Head of the Taycan model line. “The small but impactful project team from Manthey and Porsche has succeeded in transferring the Manthey DNA into a kit for electric vehicles.”
According to Kern, the improvements are immediately noticeable on track. “The Manthey Kit turns the Taycan Turbo GT with Weissach Package into the ultimate track tool. On the Nordschleife, you can feel how much more stability and confidence the car offers in fast sections and when braking,” he explained.
At the core of the package is a major aerodynamic overhaul that increases downforce by more than three times compared to the standard car. At 200km/h, downforce rises from 95kg to 310kg, while at top speed the car can generate approximately 740kg of total downforce. Key changes include a larger rear wing, revised front diffuser, redesigned rear diffuser and aerodynamic wheel covers designed to improve airflow and stability at high speed.
Performance upgrades extend beyond aerodynamics. Power output has been increased to 600kW, while Porsche’s Attack Mode now delivers up to 130kW of additional boost for short bursts, temporarily raising output to 730kW. Torque has also been increased, with Launch Control now producing up to 1,270Nm. The kit also introduces lightweight 21-inch forged alloy wheels, optional Pirelli P Zero Trofeo RS track tyres and a revised chassis setup developed specifically for circuit use. Updates to Porsche Active Ride, rear-wheel steering and all-wheel drive systems further improve agility, steering precision and cornering grip.
Visually, exposed carbon fibre elements throughout the exterior reinforce the Taycan’s motorsport-inspired character, while the overall package remains true to Porsche’s “Intelligent Performance” philosophy. The Manthey Kit is available for left-hand-drive Taycan Turbo GT models fitted with the Weissach Package and can be ordered through Porsche Centres by special request.
