MG Motor Ireland has expanded its electric line-up with the arrival of the all-new MGS6 EV, a spacious long-range electric SUV designed to combine family-friendly practicality with modern technology, comfort and confident performance. As the brand’s sixth fully electric model, and the third to sit on MG’s advanced Modular Scalable Platform, the MGS6 EV represents a significant step forward in both design and capability for the manufacturer. Positioned as a versatile family SUV, the MGS6 EV is powered by a 77kWh long-range battery offering a driving range of up to 530 kilometres on the WLTP cycle. Buyers will be able to choose between rear-wheel drive and dual-motor all-wheel drive versions, ensuring the car can cater to drivers prioritising efficiency as well as those seeking added traction and performance. The MSP architecture underpins lightweight construction and balanced driving dynamics, helping deliver smooth everyday usability alongside long-distance capability.

From the outside, the MGS6 EV introduces a bold new design language. Sharp, angular daytime running lights give the car a distinctive face, while a split grille inspired by MG’s Cyberster roadster adds a sporty edge. Integrated lighting elements and a low drag coefficient of just 0.27Cd contribute to both visual appeal and aerodynamic efficiency. Design details such as 20-inch alloy wheels with aero covers, a full-width rear light bar with a three-dimensional lighting effect, integrated roof spoiler, silver roof rails and privacy glass give the MGS6 EV a premium and contemporary presence on the road.

Inside, the focus is firmly on comfort, quality and intelligent use of space. The cabin features a clean dual-screen layout paired with soft-touch materials and a choice of grey or beige leather-style and suede-style upholstery. Practical touches include a ventilated 50W wireless phone charger, hidden air vents and physical control dials for key functions, ensuring ease of use while driving. Thanks to the extended wheelbase and ultra-thin battery design, interior space is generous, with comfortable seating for five and more than 30 storage areas spread throughout the cabin. Luggage capacity is another strong point. With the rear seats in place, the boot offers 674 litres of space, expanding to up to 1,910 litres when folded. Single-motor versions also benefit from a front storage compartment providing up to 124 litres of additional space, adding to the car’s everyday versatility.

On the road, drivers can tailor the driving experience through five selectable drive modes and four levels of regenerative braking, including a one-pedal driving option. Fast charging speeds of up to 144kW help keep charging stops short on longer journeys, while the MSP platform ensures a composed and refined driving feel. Safety is a key focus for the MGS6 EV, which has achieved a full five-star Euro NCAP safety rating. Seven airbags come as standard, along with a high-strength steel body structure and MG’s comprehensive MG Pilot driver assistance suite. A customisable MG Pilot feature allows drivers to save and restore preferred ADAS settings through the touchscreen, balancing convenience with safety compliance. An integrated braking system developed with Continental enables the MGS6 EV to stop from 100km/h in just 36 metres.

Technology plays a central role throughout the range. All versions feature a 12.8-inch floating HD touchscreen, a 10.25-inch digital driver display, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, satellite navigation and MG’s iSMART connected services for remote vehicle control. Higher-spec models add features such as a head-up display, panoramic roof, ventilated seats and a 360-degree camera. For our home market, the MGS6 EV will be offered in three trims, starting with Excite from €39,495, followed by Exclusive from €42,495, and the range-topping Exclusive Dual Motor all-wheel drive from €46,495. With competitive pricing, generous standard equipment and a strong focus on space and range, the MGS6 EV looks set to become an important new chapter for MG Motor in Ireland’s growing electric SUV market. We will soon spend a week with the new MGS6 to offer a greater insight into how it performs day to day.
