Circle K, one of Ireland’s leading forecourt and convenience retailer, has officially opened its first dedicated Electric Vehicle (EV) charging hubs at Clonshaugh and City Avenue in Dublin, supporting the increased growth in electric vehicle use across the country. The launch comes as the Central Statistics Office reports a 77% year-on-year increase in new electric vehicles licensed in September 2025, compared with the same period last year with EV sales up 39% year to date.

The new Clonshaugh hub includes five super-fast chargers and ten bays, while City Avenue features four chargers and eight bays. The super-fast EV chargers will be among the fastest available in Ireland delivering up to 400kW each. While charging, drivers can enjoy Circle K’s full in-store offering, including fresh food, barista-style coffee, free Wi-Fi, indoor seating, and toilets on-site.

The hub at Clonshaugh was officially opened by Minister for Transport and Minister for Climate, Environment and Energy, Darragh O’Brien TD, alongside Ciara Foxton, Managing Director of Circle K Ireland. These openings support Circle K’s goal to build Ireland’s largest high-powered EV charging network, providing widespread access to high-speed charging both on national routes and in urban areas. The company now has 41 EV charging locations operational across Ireland, with further hubs to follow.

Jonathan Diver, Senior Fuel Director at Circle K, added, “We are delighted to unveil our first ever dedicated EV charging hubs in Ireland which is part of our commitment to providing access to fast charging across major motorway and national routes and within local communities. Our EV network now consists of 41 sites which we intend to further add to in the coming years as customers continue to make the switch to electric vehicles. This network is underpinned by Circle K’s global strategy, which has delivered more than 2,900 chargers across Europe to date and we are grateful to have access to the very latest expertise and innovations in EV charging which we use for the benefit of our customers here in Ireland.”
