We are just over a week into July and Renault Group dealerships have been reporting strong sales of models including All-New Renault Mégane range, Captur, Kadjar, Clio and Dacia’s shockingly affordable range. The car market is up on the same time last year, and for Renault Group it was a highly successful first half of 2017 with Renault and Dacia achieving a combined share of 9.7% in the car and LCV market taking the Group to 3rd position in the market. Renault’s all-new Mégane range sold 1,595 models since January bringing it into the top 10 and sales of the new design All-New Renault Scénic and Grand Scénic have secured Renault the number one position in the medium MPV segment. The versatile Captur maintained its lead as Ireland’s favourite compact SUV in the first half of the year.

Renault LCVs continue to perform well in the market with Renault number two best-selling brand in the month of June, and year to date achieving an increased market share of 12.8%. Trafic, which is the best-selling medium van in Ireland, is also the overall best-selling van in Dublin. Dacia, the brand that was launched less than five years ago in Ireland, has clearly cemented its reputation as a smart buy with 2,300 units (2.5%) sold in 2017 so far, more than several established and well known mainstream brands and grew to a remarkable 5.9% market share in June as supply became more available. It has been a busy six months for Renault in Ireland with the launch of the All-New Mégane Grand Coupé and Mégane Sport Tourer, All-New Renault Scénic and Grand Scénic in January and launch of the new ZOE Z.E. 40 in May, which has the longest range of any mainstream electric vehicle.
Just arriving into dealerships around the country this month is All-New Renault KOLEOS, the D-segment SUV, topping Renault’s crossover range alongside Captur and Kadjar and featuring a selection of proven powertrains and technologies, with a choice of two diesel engines mated to either X-Tronic automatic transmission or a manual gearbox to meet the demand of customers in European markets. All-New Koleos combines rugged, assertive styling with the elegance, refinement and comfort associated with large saloon cars and acclaimed four-wheel drive technology; class-leading cabin space thanks to a 2.71 metre wheelbase and a 4.67 metre total length, a refined interior equipped with the segment’s very best journey-enhancing appointments and a connected experience with the R-LINK 2 multimedia tablet.

Renault Bank has had a highly successful first half of the year, lending €124 million to individual customers year-to-date (€102 million for Renault and €22 million for Dacia) with business customers borrowing €15.4 million. PCP remains the most popular choice with new car customers, with 64% opting for this versus 36% taking HP. Renault’s 172 offer through Renault Bank is currently available through all 28 dealerships and offers customers the ability to finance their new car at just 3% APR, with a 3 year service plan included and to cap it all your local dealer will give you 3% cashback on most Renault models until the end of July. This has proved extremely popular with the public, with 70% of Renault customers availing of the offer. Those looking to drive away in a new Dacia model can avail of 4.9% APR with zero deposit through Dacia Bank on all new cars ordered and registered by 31st July. On Renault’s popular and award-winning LCV range which includes Master, Trafic and Kangoo, customers can avail of 3% APR HP Finance, 3 years’ servicing included and 3% cashback for 172.

Patrick Magee, Country Operations Manager, Renault Group:
“We are delighted with the Group’s performance in the first half of the year to June and coming in at 9.7% is a great achievement. The availability of finance through our own bank and our 28 Renault Group dealers who offer a range of services that customers simply don’t get elsewhere, played a key part in that success. Renault Group has the youngest and newest model range in the market, and with the arrival of our range-topping All-New Renault Koleos SUV this month as well as new additions to the Dacia range and of course our segment-topping Captur, Scénic and Grand Scénic – we are looking forward to a busy month ahead at Renault Group HQ and throughout our dealer network.”
