Eircom has taken delivery of 100 new Opel Astra Vans to add to its fleet of vehicles, which currently includes approximately 550 Opels. The handover coincides with the launch of the new Opel Astra five-door launch. The vans will be used by Eircom’s team of field engineers and will reduce their operational costs on transport. Commenting on the announcement Fergal Marron, National Fleet Sales Manager, Opel Ireland, said: “The Astra has always been popular with fleet customers and the addition of the five-door Van is a competitive, cost effective and reliable alternative for our fleet customers who require more economy and style from a light commercial vehicle. The Astra Van is ideal for companies such as Eircom as it combines German engineering at an affordable price point for fleet customers”. Prices for the Astra Van commence from €16,538 excluding vat. It’s available across two trims, S and SC and features a 1.3-litre CDTi diesel engine with 95hp. There’s also a 1.7-litre CDTi variant which offers 125hp, both models feature ESP as standard.
