Blood Bike Leinster provides a valuable service to hospitals and patients throughout the Leinster region. It’s run by a team of dedicated volunteers who transport blood, samples and urgent tests on their highly visible motorcycles. All their riders are advanced motorcyclists trained to ROSPA standards. They also provide this free service to Ireland’s only milk bank, which provides breast milk to all of Ireland. Breast milk is vital to premature babies who are susceptible to Narcotising Enterocolitis (NEC) and septicaemia. The milk bank currently dispatches around 1,000 litres of donor breast milk per year, helping around 700 babies across the island of Ireland.

Blood Bike Leinster receives no government grants and is dependent on donations from the public. You can find out further information by visiting their website www.bloodbikeleinster.ie
