Polestar has announced the largest product expansion in its history, with four new electric vehicles set to launch over the next three years. The company expects this significant model rollout, combined with a disciplined operating approach, to deliver low double digit retail volume growth in 2026. It also plans to expand its retail network by approximately 30 percent during the same period.

By 2028, Polestar intends to introduce four new models to the global market.

The first is the Polestar 5, a four door Grand Tourer that was presented in 2025. Deliveries are expected to begin in summer 2026. Positioned as a performance flagship for the brand, the Polestar 5 is designed to bring a new level of performance and luxury to the grand touring segment.

Later this year, Polestar will launch a new variant of the Polestar 4, its current best selling model. Based on the same core technology, the new version is designed to broaden the car’s appeal by offering greater versatility and targeting a wider customer base. Deliveries are expected to commence in the fourth quarter of 2026.

The next generation Polestar 2 is scheduled for launch in early 2027. This will be a completely new successor to the sedan that established the Polestar brand, which has already achieved more than 190,000 global sales. The model remains central to the company’s long term strategy.

In 2028, Polestar plans to introduce the Polestar 7, a compact premium SUV. This model will position the brand in Europe’s largest electric vehicle segment, which is expected to account for approximately one third of total battery electric vehicle volumes in 2025.

Commenting on the announcement, Polestar CEO Michael Lohscheller said the company is building on its strongest sales year to date with an ambitious but focused expansion plan. He stated that the new models will target the core of the electric vehicle market, where both customer demand and profit potential remain strong. Combined with continued retail network growth and an expanding customer base, he said the strategy is designed to lay the foundation for profitable growth and improved operational performance.

Lohscheller described the Polestar 5 as the brand’s halo car, delivering outstanding handling and performance through its lightweight bonded aluminium platform. He also highlighted the continued success of the Polestar 4 and confirmed that the forthcoming variant will blend the space of an estate car with the versatility of an SUV, while maintaining the dynamic performance associated with the brand.

He added that the next generation Polestar 2 will play a key role in the company’s future success, while the Polestar 7 will allow Polestar to compete strongly in the high volume compact SUV segment with a performance driven product at an attractive price point.

Despite a challenging geopolitical and economic backdrop, Polestar achieved record retail sales in 2025. Looking ahead, the company expects its sales mix to evolve further, with a growing share coming from the Polestar 4. A greater focus on the retail channel, supported by continued network expansion and an expanded model line up, is expected to drive sustainable, quality growth.

Financial guidance for 2026 will be provided alongside the publication of Polestar’s full year 2025 results.
