Volvo’s S60 has earned itself a top result from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS). The Volvo S60 is one of two cars that achieved the best rating in IIHS’s new small offset frontal crash test. For this new test 25 per cent of the car’s front end on the driver’s side impacts with a rigid barrier at 64 km/h. The test is designed to replicate what happens when the front corner of a car collides with another vehicle or an object such as a tree. Last year Volvo was awarded top results from the IIHS for no less than five models, the C30, S60, S80, XC60 and XC90.
