Bright Motor Group’s new Hyundai dealership, Bright Hyundai Airside is delighted to support Darkness Into Light Swords by donating €2,000 towards the event. The donation will go towards Pieta, a free 24 hour support service to people who are in suicidal distress and those who engage in self-harm.
Pieta was founded in Dublin in 2006. It was established to provide free, accessible one-to-one counselling to people suffering from suicidal ideation, engaging in self-harm or to those bereaved by suicide. With over 200 qualified therapists across 20 physical centres, they do everything they can to ensure that help is available to those in crisis.
In 2021, despite the impact of Covid 19, they still delivered over 48,000 hours of therapy to those impacted by suicide and self-harm. They also answered over 80,000 crisis calls and texts and supported over 600 households impacted and bereaved by suicide.
Each year the Darkness Into Light walk provides an opportunity for people to connect with their local community, to bring hope to people who have been impacted by suicide and to raise much needed funds for Pieta. Their team of dedicated volunteers return year on year to make the event a success and to help us all continue to raise awareness and hope in the fight against suicide and self-harm.
For the first time, Swords hosted the event so Bright Hyundai Airside wanted to show their support to the local community by providing the donation.
