Audi has announced some details of its new RS Q3, the first ever RS Q model, which will make its debut at the upcoming Geneva motor show in March. Powering it is a 2.5-litre five-cylinder TFSI petrol engine producing 310hp and 420Nm of torque. “The RS Q3 transfers the performance philosophy of Audi to the compact SUV segment, thereby creating a new performance class,” says Franciscus van Meel, Managing Director of quattro GmbH. “In addition to the RS 5 Cabriolet, RS 6 Avant and RS 7 Sportback, the RS Q3 is the fourth RS model that we are launching in 2013. The RS family is growing to eight members – more than ever.”

 

The RS Q3 comes fitted with Audi drive select as standard, it offers auto, comfort and dynamic modes. Also standard fitment is quattro permanent all-wheel drive. To differentiate it from standard Q3 models the RS Q3 has specific body styling which includes, a high-gloss black honeycomb front grille and a rear diffuser with large elliptical tailpipes. The roof spoiler and roof rails are finished in matt aluminum. The interior features black headlining, a flat bottom steering wheel and a MMI driver information systems which can display boost pressure, oil temperature and laptimes. Prices are yet to be announced with deliveries expected to commence mid-summer.
