Audi has released a limited edition LMX version of its R8, which is the most powerful roadgoing version of the R8. It boasts 570hp and 540Nm of torque, produced from its 5.2-litre V10 petrol engine. It will make its public debut at this year’s Goodwood Festival of Speed which runs from the 26th to 29th June. The Audi R8 LMX will be the first production car to adopt laser high beam lighting as standard. One laser module per headlight generates a cone of light with twice the range of the all-LED headlight.

The exterior of this new R8 features a large fixed rear spoiler for increased downforce and a carbon fibre-reinforced polymer (CFRP) front spoiler. Under the 19” alloy wheels are carbon-fibre ceramic brake discs and red anodised callipers. Just 99 R8 LMX models will be produced and it will solely be available as a coupe.
