SEAT Leon ST Cupra Sets New Record

It’s hard to believe and estate car can be quick but with a ground-breaking best time of 7:58.12 minutes the SEAT Leon ST Cupra is now the fastest estate car around the Nürburgring Nordschleife. This was an incredible time achieved by the very capable Spanish racing driver and SEAT brand ambassador Jordi Gené. He commented after the run “It was an indescribable feeling to get the best out of this car and to be the first to achieve this record.” The sports tourer gets huge benefits from the Limited Front Slip Differential (VAQ) of the SEAT Leon Cupra and the 6-speed manual gearbox systems that enable it to get all 280bhp to the road, even in tricky conditions.

The SEAT Leon ST Cupra will be available in Ireland this summer where there will be one model offered, the top-of-the-range 2.0 TSI engine with dual injection and variable camshaft timing delivering an output of 280 bhp. With a maximum load space of 1,470 litres, in a car that can accelerate from zero to 100 km/h in just 6.0 seconds, this is the ultimate family car that offers the perfect mix performance and versatility. The car can be ordered now here in Ireland from the extensive SEAT dealer network which includes 22 SEAT dealers nationwide and prices for the SEAT Leon ST Cupra start at €37,075.

Neil Dalton, Head of Marketing and Product at SEAT Ireland said: “The Leon ST Cupra reinforces that an estate car doesn’t have to be a compromise. This record time is not only another symbol of our claim ‘Technology to Enjoy’, but also sets new standards. The SEAT Leon ST Cupra is a sports car for the whole family,”
