Renault’s second world premiere in Geneva is the estate version of the current Megane. The Megane family has gained a second member as the French marque is bringing the Megane Estate to its European customers. The automaker is already selling the Megane hatch across the Old continent, while sales of the estate will start this summer.
Despite being slightly bigger than its predecessor, the new Megane Estate offers the same boot volume of 580 liters. The boot floor has two positions with the first one creating a flat floor when the rear seat is folded, also providing an additional storage space beneath the floor. Alternatively, setting the floor in its lower position creates maximum load volume in a single area. The Megane Estate GT is the first model in the C segment that offers rear-wheel steering technology. The 4CONTROL system adds “dynamism and precision on twisty roads,” according to the manufacturer.
The engine family consists of familiar diesel and petrol units with power ranging from 90 horsepower to 205 hp. The range also includes the 1.6-liter Energy dCi 165 driving through EDC dual-clutch 6-speed automatic transmission in the GT trim that is currently unavailable for the Megane hatch. We certainly prefer the look of the wagon here in Rev.
