July has kicked off in earnest for the Renault Group as dealerships have been reporting brisk sales with both Renault and Dacia. The brand anticipate a bumper month with the launch of the all-New Mégane, Duster Phase 2 and a winning 162 offer. The car market may have dipped briefly in May, but grew in June, 12% up on the same time last year. It was a successful June for Renault Group with a combined volume of 200 cars and LCV giving the Group an 8.1% markets share, in fourth position for the month. The Group is also in fourth position year to date with 11,121 vehicles registered, giving a share of 9.3%, versus 8.4% for the same period last year.
Mégane was Renault’s best-selling car in June, and as the first All-New Mégane models arrived in showrooms, customers also snapped up great deals on the last of the 2016 model year, pushing Mégane to 5th position in the C-Segment. Renault Group’s two popular small cars, Clio and Sandero, achieved a combined number 1 position in the B segment year to date, while Captur was number one in the B SUV segment and new Kadjar going strong, climbing to fourth place in the C SUV segment. Renault LCV performance was the Group’s big success in June, with a 12.4% market share and in second position for the month. Group LCV share remains at 12.6% year to date, consolidating its 3rd place on the podium.
Paddy Magee, Country Operations Manager, Renault Group:
“Great to see that the first few days of the new registrations period was a busy one for our 26 dealerships, and we’re expecting a good July with the launch of our All-New Mégane, Kadjar which is performing really well, and of course Clio and Captur. Dacia, which we launched four years ago this month, is really a testament to the great pricing and smart buy culture, and our new Phase 2 Duster is also out this month.
The total industry volume is up 23.5% on last year, and Renault Group is up 36.5% on last year, so it’s been a good June and we look forward to a bumper July ahead”.
