The Renault Group have had a fantastic first quarter performing ahead of the market increase (+33%YTD) at +55%, and is fastest growing in market share year to date at +1.2%. The popular Renault Clio is on the podium in 3rd place in its segment since January with it, and the Dacia Sandero, moving the Group into 2nd position in the supermini segment since the start of the year.

The Dacia brand is performing extremely well on the Irish market with its very affordable range. The Duster, which has just launched a Signature Prime version, maintains 4th position in its segment and the Sandero range (Sandero & Stepway) has the biggest increase in share in its segment year on year. €50 million was lent to individuals and businesses through Renault Finance in the first quarter of 2015, which highlights the demand and availability of low cost credit. Over 50% of registrations were secured through Renault and Dacia Finance. Available across its 26 branches, Renault Finance offered interest free credit across the Renault Range in the first quarter which attributed to this result.

Patrick Magee, Country Operations Manager of the Renault Group commnted:
“The first three months of 2015 have been positive for the Group and with the passenger and van market up 33% versus the first three months last year, its good news all around. Dacia continues to be the fastest growing car brand in Ireland and taking 3% of the car market last month is just a great achievement for the brand. We are delighted with the continued success of Clio and Captur along with the new Renault Trafic van. Both brands are performing very well and we look forward to the addition of the much anticipated Renault KADJAR SUV when it launches here later in the year.”
