Ireland saw temperatures drop in July with some weather stations recording historically miserable conditions. Irish car sales however experienced a new high with the best July on record since 2008. Renault Group enjoyed a piece of the action with an impressive 2,954 registrations and a 9.42% market share, its highest market share of the year.  Renault’s own bank, Renault Finance, had a bumper month lending a whopping €22 million to Renault and Dacia individual and business customers. This is a record July for the bank since it launched here almost four years ago. Gaëlle Humbert, Managing Director at Renault Finance said: “July 2015 has been our busiest month to date in terms of finance advancements. The 0% offer that we ran during the month saw 1 in 2 Renault/Dacia vehicles financed through Renault Finance, which is a really great result!”

Renault Group July 2015 is up 50% vs July 2014 figures, growing ahead of the market and putting the Group in 5th position. Renault Group’s passenger car sales are up 40% at 5.6% market share with the Renault Group coming in at number one combined in the small car segment. Ireland’s fastest growing brand, Dacia, which celebrated the third anniversary of its launch in the country in July passed well over 3,000 registrations year to date. Sales of Light Commercial Vehicles (LCV) increased in July by 49% year to date compared to 2014, with Renault up 103% vs July last year. The Trafic performed extremely well in July coming in at number two in the total LCV segment, with the Renault brand in 2nd position in the market.
Patrick Magee, Country Operations Manager, Renault Group Ireland:  “Great results for the industry to date this year and for Renault Group in July hitting figures unheard of since 2008. We are very happy with our Group performance with almost 3,000 new registrations and our highest market share year-to-date. Our own bank lent over €22 million to our customers last month which was its best July since opening here just four years ago. Finishing in fifth position for the Group is a great achievement and to see Dacia continuing to grow and our LCV range selling so well makes an exceptionally good start to the new year!”.
