Mercedes-Benz has released some images of its all-new GLA compact SUV that will compete with the much sought after Range Rover Evoque and the upcoming Porsche Macan. The GLA is the first Mercedes-Benz SUV to be come with the optional new generation 4MATIC permanent all-wheel drive system, with fully variable torque distribution. The petrol engines will consist of a 1.6-litre and 2.0-litre engine which provides 156hp in the GLA 200 and 211hp in the GLA 250. The two diesel alternatives are the GLA 200 CDI which produces 136hp and 300NM of torque and the GLA 220 CDI, it develops 170hp and 350Nm of torque.
The Mercedes-Benz GLA will have its world premiere at next month’s Frankfurt Motor Show and will arrive in Ireland in 2014.
