Audi’s new A3 Sportback will go on sale across Audi dealerships nationwide this December, with prices commencing from €26,900. From launch there will be two petrol and two diesel variants. A 1.4-litre TFSI petrol unit delivering 122hp, a 1.8 TFSI with 180hp, whilst the diesels consist of a 1.6-litre TDI with 105hp and a 2.0-litre TDI producing 150hp. These will be followed with the introduction of a 1.2-litre TFSI petrol version with 105hp, due to arrive in April 2013.
The interior of the A3 Sportback has been redesigned, offering improved levels of refinement along with new multimedia applications. The MMI (Multi-Media Interface) comes fitted as standard with a high-resolution screen that extends automatically from the dashboard. This unit can be upgraded to MMI navigation plus with MMI touch, it’s a media centre with 10GB of music storage capacity and a DVD drive, also optional for music lovers is a Bang & Olufsen sound system complete with 705 watts and 14 speakers. The entry-level A3 Sportback comes well equipped with MMI, a leather multifunction steering wheel, 16” alloys and air conditioning all fitted as standard. There’s a €1,000 premium to upgrade to SE specification and a further €1,500 to choose the Sport variant. This new A3 Sportback has received a 5 Star rating in recent Euro-NCAP safety tests.
